So full
Yesterday I was craving for my fave siomai. I have ground pork and other ingredients but I don’t have the wrapper. What I have is a lumpia wrapper so there goes one of my all-time fave Lumpiang Shanghai! It goes well with a glass of coke and Ella must have liked it because she ate a lot! She’s not usually a big fan of my dishes because she loves soy sauce to go with her rice if there’s no fish or fried chicken on the table but last night was an exception. There was left over (as I cooked more than we can consume) so we had it for breakfast…and now I am full again! Burp…excuse me!
Spaghetti overload
It’s been months since I last cooked Ace’ favorite spaghetti and he has been constantly telling me he missed my spaghetti. I’ve been planning to cook but I kept in postponing it so the last time we went to SM for grocery shopping, I got ingredients for my special spaghetti and cooked it yesterday. I planned on cooking half kilo pasta but it might not be enough for all of us (when I say “all” it includes my sisters, BIL, Manang Inday, Dimple, Ella and Eman) so I cooked one kilo yesterday for our dinner. After the pig out and Manang Inday and Carol’s “bring home”, and we still had enough for Ace’ “baon” to the office and my lunch and merienda today…talk about spaghetti overload! Thanks goodness I am saved from cooking my food for lunch. Then tonight we will be attending a birthday party so I am saved from cooking the whole day!LOL
Sauteed Shrimp in Sprite
This is one of Ace’ favorite dish that I usually cook during special occasions or when we feel like eating shrimps. Instead of eating out and pay bucks to the restaurant for a little shrimp serving, I usually cook a kilo of this and eat to our hearts’ content. If it’s just me and Ace in the house, it’s gonna be shrimp overload for three consecutive meals!
Anyway, here’s my recipe…
Ingredients:
- medium or large shrimps
- cooking oil (I use Extra Virgin Olive Oil)
- garlic, minced (I usually use 1 head)
- spring onion, chopped
- onion, chopped
- Sprite
- salt
- pepper
- seasoning
Procedure:
- Clean shrimp
- Sautee garlic and onion in Olive oil
- Put shrimps when onion is transparent
- Add salt, seasoning and sliced spring onion
- Pour sprite when shrimps start to turn red, cover the pan
- Cook for 3-5 minutes. Do not overcook as shrimp!
That’s how easy cooking sauteed Shrimp is! So next time you are craving for shrimps, try your luck in cooking that sauteed Shrimp in Sprite.
