By the beach
Whoa! I am not yet over talking about a friend’s somewhat destination wedding. Destination wedding of some sort because the couple are both based abroad and they just went home to exchange vows in an intimate ceremony held outdoors with the beach on the backdrop. Since both of them are not residents of the city, most of their guests came all the way from our hometown and from the groom’s hometown. It’s not the kind of destination weddings Karisma Hotels in Riviera Maya offers though but the concept is almost the same…wedding by the beach! It was kinda great to experience another set up. I usually attend weddings in churches and this one is a new experience to me. But then I am still looking forward to experience a real by the beach wedding…literally walking on the sand and all. It must be fun!
Wedding plans not yet final
In about a month, my friend will walk down the aisle. I don’t have the details of the wedding but from what I heard, it will be in one of the hotel’s ballroom. It should be a big ballroom because they are expecting 250 guests but the problem is, the hotel where they wanted to hold the ceremony and reception cannot accommodate such big crowd. There are other options to consider but my friend wanted a hotel in downtown area. Oh my, this must be a big problem! Should they want to consider holding the wedding in one of the resorts like one of the Destination Weddings in the resorts of Riviera Maya that I’ve seen in the internet….my idea of a wedding so only few can come so it must be intimate and private.LOL
Honeymoon
Last Saturday I was able to attend the renewal of vows of one of my former colleagues in Macondray Plastics. It is Mam Dad’s (my former colleague) and his husband’s 25th wedding anniversary. It was an intimate affair attended by close friends and relatives. Luckily I was one of the chosen few to witness that memorable event because I have to practice covering an event. Yay! Anyway, it was indeed a very special moment having witnessed a couple renewing their vows after 25 years after all that they’ve been through. After the reception at one of the buffet resto’s in town, I overheard one of the relatives asking the couple where are they spending their honeymoon but I didn’t hear Mam Dad’s answer. If only we are near Riviera Maya, I would suggest to have their honeymoon at Cancun. Cancun honeymoons is very popular for those who wanted to be in a crowd and dance until the wee hours in the morning. I just hope they are not yet too old for parties so they could both enjoy their nth(?) honeymoon. Anyway, whereever they spent their honeymoon, I am pretty sure they both have a great time.
