Pastel

Published by at 2:36 pm under food trip,Food Trip Friday

I have a number of Muslim classmates and friends since elementary until now. I must admit I like some of their foods especially the Tinagtag and Pastel. Pastel is a steamed rice topped with chopped Chicken cooked like adobo (but mas masarap sya sa adobo) and wrapped in Banana leaves. This isn’t widely prepared before but when people discovered that they can save a lot with Pastel - imagine isang balot limang piso lang noong nag-aaral pa ako, ngayon sampung piso na – it has become most people’s meal especially to those who are in tight budget like the students. Hence, this is also great for merienda kasi talagang mabubusog ka. Tubig nalang kulang, solve ka na. O pwede rin softdrinks di bale nakatipid naman sa kanin at ulam.hahaha. Anyway, we had this Pastel during our food trip (to eat pastel, balut and durian) with my cousins, nephews and nieces after our grandfather’s burial months ago.

This is a Chicken liver Pastel which I liked so much simply because I am a sucker of liver! yayks!
