For an ordinary Pinoy, if you say PIZZA, what comes to your mind? Aside from the local pizzas with thick and hard crust topped with sliced hotdogs and tomato sauce (that tastes more like banana ketchup) and grated cheddar cheese for five pesos a slice being sold in small towns like my hometown, I am sure many would say GREENWICH! Who doesn’t love Greenwich Pizza?

For years, we’re a fan of this “lasang-Pinoy” pizza and hubby has been a number one fan ever since. If you know my husband, he’s got picky “Pinoy” taste buds (that sweet taste) in a sense that if he says “masarap” it is indeed “masarap”. Then he’ll be loyal to that certain brand. He loves Greenwich Hawaiian Classic to bits while my ultimate favorite is Garden Fresh. That’s years and years of eating the same thing (well of course with Lasagna for me and Baked Macaroni for him at times).

So what’s new with Pinoy’s favorite pizza this time?

Greenwich Pizza Blowout on Tour was here in Davao City last month bringing with them the good news! With their tag line “BETTER THAN ANY OTHER”, Davao Bloggers had a gastronomical treat of their new Greenwich Special Overload pizza and their new Crispy Glazed Chicken

After a short game hosted by Greenwich peeps, we were served with this Special Overload Pizza. It is indeed overloaded with toppings (and cheese!) and the crust is a bit thicker than the thin crust but thinner than the thick crust. I’m sorry if I confused you, but it’s in between thin and thick crust.

After my first slice, I’m already full! So that’s how heavy it is for me. Hmm…at least for people with small food basket like me that I have to pass on the second pizza that was served in our table.

Here’s another new from Greenwich….

Greenwich Crispy Glazed Chicken in extra large cuts for the fried chicken fanatics!!!

Of course, it’s still a Pinoy-style chicken because it has a barbeque zest – with that sweet and mildly spicy glaze. It’s delicious for me but it is best to eat it with rice paired with an ice-cold soda. For me, chicken should be eaten with rice para busog agad!haha. Literally, I’m super full with a slice of pizza and a piece of Crispy Glazed Chicken.

I must not forget too, that we were served with flavored fries to complete the Greenwich Pizza Blowout Tour experience.
