Fish Kinilaw (Kilawen in Ilocano) is one of my faves that I can actually eat E-V-E-R-Y-D-A-Y. It’s also one of a close friends’ fave that every time we dine out or just have a night out over some bottles of beer for them and a Cali shandy for me, we don’t miss the chance to order Fish Kinilaw.

Here’s a Fish Kinilaw that we had at Let’s Crab Eat during our dinner September of last year. It’s supposed to be a “crab” specialty restaurant but we didn’t dare try their crab dishes except for the crab omelet. The place is cozy but nothing extra ordinary in their dishes. It doesn’t taste so good that I am not even wanting to go back there. The fact that we were not served immediately because they ran out of rice is a big disappointment. That only shows how incompetent their kitchen staffs are….running out of rice that they have to go out and buy rice from the nearby restaurants is one of the biggest no-no for me. If they’re just a small carenderia in the street, I could understand but in a restaurant where you are paying so much for the food that also includes the services, I don’t think it’s okay.

It’s been a while since we went out of our comfort zones and visited a new place so I can’t share a photo of our new food trips. But here’s one during our first ever dinner at Swiss Deli located along J.P. Laurel Avenue, Lanang, Davao City where my youngest sister used to have her on-the-job training. She was bragging about the resto’s food so we gave it a try.

My sister had this salad. I didn’t get what it is called but it’s a must try for those who are on diet.

My first time to join this meme (though a day late). I’ve been participating just one food meme last year and now I decided to add another one.

Here’s a yummy Fish Kilawin – one of the dishes that we had at Japanese Tunnel during our HS get-together last month. This is my all-time fave as I can stand eating this E-V-E-R-Y-D-A-Y so is one of my closest HS and college buddy. Hence every time we eat out, Fish Kilawin is always part of the menu.
