PostHeaderIcon Let’s Crab It: Not worth the visit

We had dinner with friends at Let’s Crab It September of last year but wasn’t able or not in the mood the post about it. I just mentioned it once in my post but never did post about the experience. For first timers, it wasn’t one great experience dining in that resto. Food is not that sumptuous that one would want to keep coming back there. It’s too pricey like life insurance rates and yet, not too satisfying! The big turn off, they ran out of rice and served only 4 of our 5 orders. It took them too long to be able to serve another one because they have to buy from other neighboring restos. Other customers aside from us waited too long for them to serve rice. Such a big turn off for that restaurant. So after that first visit, it never crossed my mind to dine there again. Ace said I’d better cook at home because I cook better than the restaurant’s cook.bwahahaha!

Fish Kinilaw

Fish Kinilaw (Kilawen in Ilocano) is one of my faves that I can actually eat E-V-E-R-Y-D-A-Y. It’s also one of a close friends’ fave that every time we dine out or just have a night out over some bottles of beer for them and a Cali shandy for me, we don’t miss the chance to order Fish Kinilaw.

Here’s a Fish Kinilaw that we had at Let’s Crab Eat during our dinner September of last year. It’s supposed to be a “crab” specialty restaurant but we didn’t dare try their crab dishes except for the crab omelet. The place is cozy but nothing extra ordinary in their dishes. It doesn’t taste so good that I am not even wanting to go back there. The fact that we were not served immediately because they ran out of rice is a big disappointment. That only shows how incompetent their kitchen staffs are….running out of rice that they have to go out and buy rice from the nearby restaurants is one of the biggest no-no for me. If they’re just a small carenderia in the street, I could understand but in a restaurant where you are paying so much for the food that also includes the services, I don’t think it’s okay.

We (me, Ace and my youngest sister) had a food trip at Swiss Deli September last year. My bad! It’s just now that I remember to post the photos we took. Anyway, here’s what I had. It’s a beef ribs (I forgot to take note of the dish’ name). It’s yummy that I finished everything! I’m not usually going out of my comfort zone especially with food but I am just glad I did during this dinner. It’s a must-try for people who loves beef. I’m actually drooling now and almost forgot about looking for the old mens ties that Ace is playing with before. Our BIL might need it when they transfer to their new office location. However, I shouldn’t have meat for a couple of days to rest my tummy from taking in meat these days so I wouldn’t have that or similar dishes until my tummy’s totally fine and I have flushed out all the undigested meat in my intestines.
